Natural Areas

Stewarding Our Living Collection

At the core of the Museum’s mission is the fostering of respect and stewardship for nature. We put this idea into practice by protecting and preserving more than 12,000 acres of natural areas across the state of Ohio.

These natural areas serve as critical nature preserves for rare or endangered flora and fauna, as important living laboratories for Museum researchers, and as amazing sites of exploration and education for Museum guests on field trips.
